Prop, Costume and Location List

I have decided to do a prop and location list at the same time as writing my first mock up for my script because as I go through the process of writing my script, I feel that I may come up with ideas which may include props/location and I can add these ideas to this list as my script develops

So far, I have decided the following props/costumes will be essential:

• (Costume) Aprons, chief hat, checkered/stripy trousers, bow tie, white dinner jacket - these costumes are for Mario and Luigi. The reason I feel that these props/costumes are essential is because it fits in with the mise-en-scene of the scene, time period and created realism due to the waiter(Mario) and chief(Luigi) wearing professional clothing.
• (Costume) 1920's black vintage suit & dress, cigarette holder, long black tie - these costumes will be for Rosa and her father. These outfits are needed just like the costumes above as they fit in with the mise-en-scene of the scene and time period. I will be researching at a later time the fashion style of this time period.
• (Props) Pizza dough, waiting platter, plates, broom, cutlery, tables, chairs, napkins, salt & pepper, candles, paintings, Italian flag, ashtray - these props will be included in the kitchen sink mise-en-scene and will be mostly in the background and some pieces may not even be touched/moved, however play an important role in creating realism. I want some props included in the scene to be detailed showing how high class the restaurant actually is, like the photo below. In this photo, a delicate display of drinks and tea accessories, etc.

(Location) The location of my filming will be set in an Italian restaurant in Italy. I will be filming my whole film in two rooms, both decorated to look like an Italian restaurant. One room will be transformed into a restaurant kitchen and the other, into a dining space for an Italian restaurant. An important feature to keep in mind when choosing the location (decoration wise) and choosing props, is that due to the fact the film is a silent film, it is set in the early 1990's and therefore, the time period must be kept into consideration before making all decisions.

A famous Italian cafe/restaurant I will be researching is café Florian - one of the oldest Italian cafe's in the whole of Italy. I will research this cafe to get inspiriting visuals for my set.
