Aims and Context

My aim I to create comical humour to an audience by using the four main stylistics; mise-en-scene, cinematography, sound and editing).

In my previous AS level of film and media, I learnt how to use programmes such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premier, as well as learning the four main film language stylistics, camera angles, camera shots, etc. I will be using these previously learnt programmes and topics when creating my film.

As I am creating a 1920’s styled silent black and white film, I have researched other silent black and white films released during this time period such as 'The Music Box' directed by James Parrott, released in 1932 and 'The Kid' directed by Charlie Chaplin, released in 1921, and researching films stars such as Laurel and Hardy and Charlie Chaplin.

I will be taking on all the roles when creating this film (script writer, camera technicican, editor, director and producer). The only role I will not be taking, is the acting role.

I aim to target this film at an older audience as opposed to aiming the film at a younger mainstream audience as due to this films nosalgia, I feel it would be more appriciated and enjoyed by an older audience and an audience that can relate to this style of film.
Synopsis of film: Mario is a fun loving kind hearty Italian who works at a Pizzeria in the heart Italy, but he has one problem. He is the clumsiest person who ever lived! His boss, Luigi is a grumpy old man who wants everything done his way, or no way at all. Luigi gives Mario one last chance to prove himself worthy of keeping his job after giving him a number of chances, the same night the woman of his dreams comes into the restaurant, with her Dad, one of the most wealthiest and well known businessmen in Europe. Her name is Rosa and she is the most beautiful woman in the whole of Italy. Mario has a hectic night in front of him, he must: impress the girl of his wildest dream,  impress Rosa’s father, keep his job and impress Luigi and the most important thing, not look like a fool while he does it!
